About this event

Please join Tarheel Sports Car Club for a fun and competitive evening of Grand Prix Karting on June 20th, 2026 at VIR Karting! The VIR Kart Track is a state-of-the-art 5/8 mile, 24-foot-wide paved circuit right in the heart of Southern Virginia, with karts that run ungoverned Honda GX 270cc motors capable of speeds in excess of 50 mph! We'll have the track for upwards of 3 hours to complete practice and qualifying for a two-hour enduro race that will be undertaken by 12 groups of 3! Bring your friends, make a team, bring home the silverware!

Must be 12 years of age or older and at least 61 inches tall.

Registration Fee: $110 individual, $330 for team

This is a capped event, only 36 spots are available. Those on waitlist will be notified of open spots as they are made available.

This is a team-endurance event. Drivers will have the option to place themselves into teams, or will be automatically assigned to one. Teams are expected to rotate drivers during practice/qualifying/race.

(Neck collar, head sock and helmets may be borrowed from the VIR Kart Track at no additional cost)

Gates open at 7:00 AM, Saturday, June 20th, 2026, please sign waivers provided by VIR Staff and follow directions to the kart track.

Depending on participants and their preferences for teams, we will have already assigned folks to 3-person teams across 12 karts, but late minute changes may be necessary if no-shows.

THSCC and VIR Karting believe in a zero-tolerance policy regarding alcohol and controlled substances. Anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or any other controlled substance will not be permitted to drive.

Karting is not a contact sport. THSCC and VIR Karting do not tolerate any bumping or blocking. The inability to pass another kart is no excuse for contact. Anyone driving aggressively without regard for our rules or the safety of others will receive a warning for the first incident. A second violation will result in the removal of the driver from the track and review of membership by THSCC staff.
