About this drive

The Denali Highway stretches 135 miles across the Alaska Range, connecting Paxson to Cantwell through some of the most untouched wilderness in North America. Most of the road is unpaved gravel, but the rewards are extraordinary: unobstructed views of Denali on clear days, vast tundra carpeted with wildflowers in summer and blazing scarlet in fall, caribou herds, grizzly bears, and wolverines.
