About this drive
Voted 'Norwegian Construction of the Century,' the Atlantic Ocean Road is an engineering marvel and one of the most dramatic drives on the planet. The 8.3-kilometre road links eight small islands and islets through a series of bridges and causeways that appear to simply float on the Norwegian Sea. During storms, waves crash spectacularly over the road and its bridges. Even in calm weather, the view of the open Atlantic stretching to the horizon on all sides is utterly captivating.
